The Breakdown

BIGGER & BETTER EVENTS since 2011!

The 5th Annual DFW Pre-Season Battle is a basketball tournament for boys’ and girls’ travel, local, and regional teams of A, B & C skill levels. The tournament guarantees each team at least three games, with awards presented to the first and second place finishers. All games will be played in one location, under a single roof.

Qualifier for the Big Time Hoops National Championships

Eligibility
The tournament is open to teams affiliated with various organizations, including Sneaker sponsored programs, AAU basketball, travel teams, NTBA, Jr. NBA, USSSA, USAB, and YBOA.

Team placement
Big Time Hoops relies on each team’s self-assessment to ensure proper placement in appropriate pools, aiming for competitive games and a high-energy environment for everyone involved.

Skill level breakdown
A-level teams: National Travel teams that regularly compete in multiple championship games.
B-level teams: Teams that have won bracket or playoff games at the regional level.
C-level teams: Parks & Recreation experience, newly formed teams.

Big Time Hoops events
Since 2011, Big Time Hoops has hosted various basketball events, including showcases, collegiate combines, one-day challenges, and NCAA-certified tournaments. For the 2026 expansion, they anticipate capping the number of participating teams in the DFW Pre-Season Battle at 72.

Qualification
This tournament serves as a qualifier for the Big Time Hoops National Championships. More information regarding the National Championships is expected soon.

Entry fee
The entry fee for the tournament is $279 (ages 9 -14) | $329 (ages 15 – 18)

Yes and No, Big Time Hoops DOES NOT guarantee schedule requests. However, these requests must be submitted well in advance and are subject to approval based on the overall scheduling needs of the event.

Note: The best chance of having your schedule requests honored is to register and pay early, as those request submissions have priority over teams that register later.

Final rosters must be submitted by 9 PM on Thursday of the event week. Teams must access Exposure Basketball using the SAME CREDENTIALS used to register the team. To update your roster within Exposure Basketball, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Exposure Basketball account with your registration credentials.
  2. Click "Teams" in the left column.
  3. Click the Team that you wish to update.
  4. Click "Players" and then click "+Player"
  5. Enter for each player: Full Name, Uniform Number and Grade
  6. Save your changes to ensure the roster is updated.

Make sure your roster is accurate and complete before the deadline!

Schedule is normally published on Tuesday night, week of the event. Teams should access schedule by going to https://bigtimehoops.net/schedules/

Age based events. Teams must register according to the oldest player on team.
